Entering a probation period

Resources > Resource card> Administrative tab > resource's contract card

When a new resource comes into your workforce, you can add a probation period

For that, all you need to do is go to their contract then click on the Add a probation period option.

In order to minimize errors in the end dates of the probationary period, this input assistance allows you to select and apply: 

  • the duration of the probation period, 
  • the duration of the probation period's renewal.

You will be alerted 30 days before the end of a probationary period

To disable the alert, you have several options: (If necessary, we invite you to go to the relevant section.)

  • renewing a probation period  
  • refusing a probation period 
  • approving a probation period

Renewing a probation period

By default, 30 days before the end of the probation period, you will be notified, in your dashboard, that a probation period is approaching expiration

If the first probation period (PP1) is renewed, you only need to change its state

 Good to know

In the case of a renewal, the alert of the first probation period (PP1) will no longer be displayed and will be applied to the date of the second probation period (PP2). 

Approving a probation period

Two scenarios may occur. 

Approving the first probation period (PP1)

If you wish to approve your employee before or at the end of their first probation period, simply change the state of their probation period to indicate that it is Approved

The alerts associated with the probation periods will be deactivated

Approving the second probation period (PP2)

If you have renewed the first probation period and wish to approve it, simply change the state of the probation period to Renewed - Approved.

In case you approved the second probation period (PP2), the alert associated to that probation period will be deactivated

Refusing a probation period

If you wish to end a probation period, two scenarios might occur: 

Refusing the first probation period (PP1)

If you wish to end the first probation period, simply change the state of the probationary period to indicate that it was Refused

A pop-up window appears for you to enter the end date of the contract and the associated reason

 If necessary

If you wish to add or edit the list of reasons for ending a contract, simply go to the Administration > Global Settings > HR data tab

Refusing the second probation period (PP2) 

If you wish to end the second probation period, simply change the state of the probation period to Renewed - Refused

F.A.Q.

If a consultant requests an absence during their probation period, will it change the end date of the probation period?

No, it will not update the end date of a probation period. You will need to edit that date manually, if necessary. 

Can I customize the duration of probation periods?

The default setting is 4 months and renewable. 

If you wish to change that, you can do so manually. 

How can I delete a probation period?

To delete a probationary period, you need to remove the date entered in the 1st probation period.

I made a mistake with the contract's start date, how can I reopen the input assistance for probation periods?

To reopen the assistance window, simply delete the first probation period.
